Ocean Sports Resort

It’s all fun & games this Festive Season

You might want to just sit back and relax this holiday with your feet up and a cold drink by your side, but if you’d like to keep active then Ocean Sports (as our name suggests) is the place for you.

We’ve got lots on as always with something for everyone to enjoy. Watamu is world renound for bill-fishing so get in touch if you would like to give it a go. We organize half and full day fishing trips with Alleycat, Tarka and Unreel. If you are a keen fisherman then why not enter the Watamu Sea Fishing Club’s Christmas Competition which is always held here at Ocean Sports on the 28th and 29th of December. It is one of the most popular fishing events in Kenya and sponsored by Captain Andy’s, so you can be sure there will be lots of great prizes up for grabs.

December is one of the best months for SCUBA diving and with our on site PADI dive school, Aqua Ventures, you can easily do a course and dive in our incredible Marine National Park. Our guests who have been diving over the last few days saw dolphins on the way to the dive site and then swam with this beautiful green turtle.

The ocean directly inStand Up Paddle Boarding in front of Ocean Sports front of us is perfect for Stand Up Paddle boarding and we are happy to have Tribe Watersports‘ paddles and boards on site ready for you to start off your day on the water. The sea is beautiful and clear this time of year giving you the chance to see turtles, rays, dolphins and much more all from your board. Tribe also offer kitesurfing lessons, click here to get in touch with them.

If you enjoy team sports then join us on Tuesday and Friday afternoons for hockey, or Wednesdays for tennis and squash. Every year we have the Watamu Ashes, a cricket match against our neighbours Hemingways on the beach. So if you can throw, or hit a ball then join us on the 30th of December to help us win back the cup! All ages are most welcome.
