Record entry of 124 anglers on 28 boats emphasizes the premier status of the W.S.F.C Christmas Fishing Competition.
Held over 2 days at Ocean Sports, teams started fishing at 7am and were required to cross the Watamu reef before 4:30pm on return.
A Blue Marlin of 360lbs boated by Blue Eyes on day 1 appeared to promote their unassailable lead. This fish took damage in the hook up so was bought in. However, with fishing tales, the story contained further twists, turns and their final unexpected leap.
On day 2 Unreel managed to catch a Striped Marlin raising themselves into 2nd day leadership and the overall competition winners.
The results were as follows:
1st place with 267.15 points
Skipper – Rob Hellier
Fished by Paul, Rob, Mark, Mairi and Kaya
